Dealing with Grief

Life is a journey taking it one step as it comes, sometimes day dreaming other times charging it head on. You really never get prepared for life, do you really? Ask yourself, yeah you tell yourself you got this, other days you are scared shitless so let’s not even act like we are all put together. I know I’m not but you know where I’m going to or am I even going anywhere? Yeah I was, talking about life and shit happening, everyday comes with challenges that we just juggle along the way without any manual. Some use hope, some no hope, some talents, some wits, some brains, some brawn. We all have different coping mechanism, don’t beat yourself up about how you are handling yours because for me I haven’t fully processed it and I sure don’t know how or when but for now I’m breathing and that is all that counts.

MUGS AND DRIPS KITCHEN

You know those mornings when you are hungry but don't want anything heavy, well here's a one stop cafe you'd like, I had the full package and i'd  recommend the samosa ( i wanted to go back for more ) but i had a pending meeting. Right now i'm thinking about it i know right it was that good, the puff-puff was what i call "puff sweet", the stick beef was well spiced...... The naija in me can't resist meat lol. The service was friendly with a clean environment. Don't be told check it out yourself and definitely pocket friendly. Menu from; samosa, springroll, puff-puff, stick beef, popcorn, soft drinks, water and coffee It's a at the ground floor of the multipurpose parking hall opposite CAC Maitama ( if you are based in Abuja or ever in Abuja ) although the main kitchen is in Gwarinpa. contact no; 07066492672

Take me back to dubai

I think i have a thing for street food, this was one of those days walking the streets of deira hungry and tired so we saw a shawarma spot that also sells fresh fruit smoothies and i just knew that was it. At this point i was ready to go wild on the food but what is life without food? We had nan bread, chicken filling, potato fries and kiwi/mango smothie, trust me the taste was "garlicy" but worth it. My tongue actually misses dubai food.

Breakfast Trial

Besides being a pastry chef, i love breakfast so i decided to try Chef Kinzo's recipe for caramelized bread with home made ice cream and this was what came out. I woke up early this morning excited about making this, during the process burnt my finger while caramelizing the sugar. Although i didn't finish the procedure by baking it, it came out....... lets say i would try it again. Told myself add banana it might hide the sugar overdose, it certainly did not. The next time i make it to perfection will definitely drop the recipe.

CASHEW SEASON!!!!!!!

The beauty about working from the comfort of my home is the evening walks, so today I stumbled on a woman selling cashew, mango and cherry (what we in the north call agbalumo) by the way side and I had to stop for the cashew, I haven’t had that in ages but is there any cashew drink with the amount of liquid in it?  That’s beside the point, as a Nigerian street food aren’t just sweet but cheap! Stay on this page because I’d be showcasing a lot of street/local food this February, ever in Nigeria, don’t leave without enjoying street/local food…………. The thing about this piece is the woman, she does this to feed her family and she doesn't make much profit. When next you pass a street hawker, it wont cost much to patronize them, thank you

STILL A RESOLUTION

Is the new year resolution a myth or a drinking game? We are in the second month of the year and trust me I have forgotten mine but I know it has something to do with going to gym and losing a few weight but my love for food and sleep is my kryptonite ( as per super girl ) Tomorrow is always convenient for me to start but sadly tomorrow comes with an excuse but today shouldn’t, my list of things to do this year is much especially with the blog………. I just want to use this post to remind you it’s not too late to start the list whatever it may be, applying for that job, learning a skill, travelling to a new place or maybe leaving your comfort zone. We can do this, all the best!
